AVANTI PS 500
If your office or shredding unit goes through paper by the stack, the AVANTI PS 500 is worth a look. It’s a heavy duty industrial shredder with a wide 520 mm feed, so large documents and thick bundles go in without any fuss. It takes 90-95 sheets of 70 gsm A4 at a time and cuts them into 6 mm strips at 8 metres a minute. The 3.75 KW motor runs on 415 V and drives alloy steel cutters, and the 230 litre bin means you’re not stopping every few minutes to empty it. If the AVANTI PS 500 jams or runs hot, the overload and overheat protection step in, and auto reverse helps clear the paper. Paper clips and staples are fine, and so are CDs and floppies. Keep it in a ventilated spot and run it at 60% of rated capacity, and it can work continuously.
